I mentioned in the introductory post on the homepage that I don’t like to read books on electric gadgets. By electric gadgets I’m referring to things like eBook readers, Kindle, Nooks, tablets or anything else along these lines. With this article I’d like to explain myself a bit as to why that is exactly.
Why I like actual books
Before I begin let me just say that I do own an eBook reader, and I do have books on it. It’s not that I’m thick and I don’t know how to use such devices.
The reason why I don’t like eBook readers is because I don’t like to depend on a battery for my reading sessions, and dealing with chargers is just the worst. I know that Kindle supposedly has amazing battery life, but my reader doesn’t. When I go out on a camping trip for a week or two, I don’t want to deal with solar chargers, or battery banks or whatever when I want to read a book.
When I read a book that’s an actual book all you need is sunlight, or a lamp if you’re reading at night. There is no need to worry about battery, chargers or whether or not the device works. Just open up the book, find the bookmark and continue reading. Let me know what you think by leaving a comment down below.
